Appeal for groups to feature in South Glos community showcase event

South Gloucestershire Community Showcase 2014.

Bradley Stoke based youth group South West Winterguard Academy is staging a ‘community showcase’ event on Saturday 5th April at Thornbury Leisure Centre.

The aim of the event is to demonstrate to the people of South Gloucestershire the diverse range of sport, dance and arts activities available to them.

Some of the acts already confirmed are Odyssey Dance Troop, PUMA Taekwondo, Infinity DC, Concorde Wheelchair Dancers and South West Winterguard Academy.

The show starts at 2pm, with doors opening at 1.30pm.

The club’s Core Director, Ken Burrows, said:

“The aim of this event is to demonstrate to the people of South Gloucestershire and Bristol, during the spring months, the vast range of diverse sport, dance and arts available to them in the surrounding communities for people of all ages and abilities.”

“It’s not too late to take part, so if you have a sports or performing arts project which you would like to promote and perform in the community, please get in touch as we have a limited number of spaces still available for anyone wishing to take part.”

Appealing to the general public to attend the event on 5th April, Mr Burrows added:

“Please come along and support this great community event.”
