In September 2018, Holy Family Primary RC School will be celebrating the fact that the school has been open for 50 years. On 4th September 1968, Holy Family opened its doors with Mr PD Driscoll as headmaster and just four classes totalling 104 students. Two of those first pupils are still at the school as current members of staff: school administrator Anne Collins (née Hewlett) and teaching assistant Alison Bush (née Greenman). Were you part of that original class or are you an ex-pupil, parent or member of staff from the 50 years in between? If so, come and join us this summer as we mark our golden anniversary with a series of celebrations.

Mass with Bishop Declan

Past pupils, teachers and families are invited to join us for a celebration Mass at 10.30am on Thursday 28th June, which will be led by Bishop Declan.

Mass will be followed by the unveiling of our 50th anniversary mosaics and refreshments in our memory café. If you have any old photographs or memories to share please drop them in to the school office beforehand, so we can add them to our collection.

Golden Street Party

Current pupils and families are invited to join us on the playground for our 50th Celebratory Street Party on Friday 29th June at 2pm. Make sure you join in the party atmosphere by wearing something gold.

Summer Fun Day

The celebrations will continue at the Holy Family Summer Fair on Saturday 30th June where everyone is welcome. We hope pupils, parents and neighbours past and present will join us for the annual fun day from 12pm until 2pm.

We are hoping to see lots of familiar faces for our celebrations, so spread the word to anyone you know who has been part of the Holy Family team over the past fifty years – and come and join the fun.
