This year, Dunkley’s Chartered Accountants (based in Woodlands Lane) were nominated for three awards: ‘Independent Firm of the Year: South-West, England’, ‘Outstanding Advisory’ and ‘Best Employer’.

Directors Lisa White and Matthew Dobbins, alongside client partner Natasha Miller, attended the ceremony held at the Grosvenor Hotel and, with three nominations hopes were high.

The Dunkley’s party were delighted when their company was declared the winner of the ‘Independent Firm of the Year: South-West, England’ award.

Lisa White explains what winning this award means for the business:

“Winning such a prestigious award is a perfect time to thank every one of our employees for the commitment and hard work they give to the firm every day, without which none of this would be possible.”

“We as a firm are continually striving to improve process and aim to always provide excellent client service. For this to be acknowledged at a national level is quite something and a reinforcement that the team are doing all the right things. We should all be very proud of what has been achieved.”

Bradley Stoke accountancy firm Dunkley’s, well known locally for its support of the Wallace and Gromit sculpture trails, has been named ‘Marketing Innovation Firm of the Year’ in a competition organised by a leading supplier of accountancy software.

On Tuesday 9th October, the crème de la crème of IRIS Accounting Solutions’ customers gathered and celebrated the inaugural IRIS Customer Awards in London.

Managing director Mike Dunkley and marketing manager Nicole Crompton attended the ceremony, held in the members’ lounge at Twickenham Stadium, and were delighted to be announced as the winners!

Lisa White, one of the directors at Dunkley’s, described the achievement as “a reflection of all the effort put in by our marketing manager, Nicole.” She added: “Her ideas, energy and enthusiasm are refreshing. Her commitment to the campaigns undertaken is inspirational! Winning the award is a real testament to her constant hard work.”

Mike Dunkley commented: “We live in a snowstorm of information and Nicole always ensures our message stands out as a beacon of enlightenment.”

Local accountancy firm Dunkley’s has welcomed a Gromit sculpture back to Bradley Stoke as part of The Grand Appeal’s Gromit Unleashed 2 trail taking place in Bristol this summer.

Cupid, a paisley-printed, Valentine-inspired Gromit will be on display outside their office in support of Bristol Children’s Hospital and the Special Care Baby Unit at St Michael’s Hospital from Monday 2nd July to Sunday 2nd September 2018.

The Gromit was decorated by professional textile designer Blossom and Brush. This is the second year the textile designer has been involved in the trails having previously designed a Shaun sculpture for Shaun in the City, which sat outside St Mary Redcliffe Church.

This is the third time that Dunkley’s have supported The Grand Appeal’s award-winning sculpture trails. In 2013 Dunkley’s sponsored the ‘Two Eds are Better than One’ Gromit as part of the first Gromit Unleashed trail and in 2015 Dunkley’s sponsored ‘Shaun of the Jungle’ as part of the Shaun in the City trail.

Over the next two months, Dunkley’s are looking forward to welcoming thousands of visitors to their office to meet their newest addition, Cupid.

To align with the launch, the firm are running fundraising competitions to further promote their involvement including ‘give Gromit a makeover’ and ‘let me take a selfie with Cupid’ which links to the Gromit’s personal Instagram account @TopDogDunkleys.

Wallace and Gromit fans in Bradley Stoke will be delighted to hear that the town will be hosting TWO giant sculptures on the Gromit Unleashed 2 arts trail that starts in early July.

Bristol Children’s Hospital charity, The Grand Appeal, has announced the locations and sponsors for its sixty-plus sculptures of Academy Award-winning characters Wallace, Gromit and Feathers McGraw and local accountancy firm Dunkley’s and the Willow Brook Centre have been revealed as proud hosts for two of the figures.

From 2nd July until 2nd September, trail visitors can expect to see over sixty sculptures, each individually designed and decorated by high-profile artists, designers, innovators and local talent, spread across the city and the surrounding areas. Thornbury represents the most northerly point, with Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park and Chew Valley marking the East and South boundaries respectively, and Weston-super-Mare in the West.

This will be the third year that Dunkley’s have supported The Grand Appeal’s award-winning sculpture trails. In 2013 Dunkley’s sponsored the ‘Two Eds are Better than One’ Gromit as part of the first Gromit Unleashed trail and in 2015 they sponsored ‘Shaun of the Jungle’ as part of the Shaun in the City trail.

Dunkley’s director Lisa White said:

“We are really excited to be playing a part in such a high-profile Bristol-led event. As a business, we are looking forward to inviting our clients, friends from the business world and local community to our offices to embrace this opportunity. Giving back to the local area is very important to us as it is strongly rooted in our company values, so we are thrilled to be a big part of The Grand Appeal’s initiative.”

Lisa added:

“We are still in the process of finding out which Gromit we will have, so all we can say now is ‘expect the unexpected!’”
