BSYFC Under-11 Girls remain unbeaten

Bradley Stoke Youth FC's Under-11 Girls Team in action against Longwell Green.

The Bradley Stoke Youth FC (BSYFC) Under-11 Girls remain unbeaten after their 6-2 win over Longwell Green Whites on Sunday morning.

The game, which was held at Patchway Community College, kicked off in windy conditions which affected the game throughout.

The home side got going early when Zoe Jones hit a wonder-strike into the top of the net just minutes after kick off; this was after the first goal got the scoring on its way when the ball rolled into the net just out of reach for the keeper.

This was closely followed by some excellent team play from the girls which ended in Olivia Hood getting the next with a fantastic assist from Lydia Tang, who then got the fourth herself with an excellent finish.

It all looked set to be a perfect half for the Bradley Stoke side but Longwell Green were able to capitalise on a slight defensive error to squeeze in a goal of their own before half time.

Millie was the next to put the ball in the back of the net for the Bradley Stoke side; she took an excellent touch to set her up for a fantastic shot that found its way into the bottom corner for the first goal in the second half.

Longwell Green were the next to have the ball in the net as they claimed their second goal of the game, but they could not keep up with a fantastic Bradley Stoke side who managed to get a total of six goals over the course of the game, Olivia and Esme scoring the two goals for Longwell Green.

Peplow hat-trick bags three points for BSTFC

Posted on Thursday 31st October 2013 at 3:34 pm by Connor Summers

Bradley Stoke Town FC's Sam Peplow scores a hat-trick against St Pancras.

A returning Sam Peplow scored three goals for Bradley Stoke Town FC (BSTFC’s) First Team as they grabbed a last minute winner against St Pancras on Saturday afternoon.

In a close game, Bradley Stoke found themselves 2-1 down at half time after Dan Hedges and Joel Wallis had scored for the away side, with Peplow grabbing a consolation goal for BSTFC.

In the second half, after some crowd trouble, Bradley Stoke were able to draw level with a powerful Peplow shot that nestled into the bottom corner.

This increased the intensity of the game and the Hornets were looking for a winner. It was found in the dying minutes of the game when debutant Joe Love, who was solid all game, put through an experienced Peplow to slot the ball under the away keeper, bagging all three points for Bradley Stoke.

BSYFC Under-11 Girls share points with Westbury

Posted on Thursday 24th October 2013 at 1:06 pm by Connor Summers

Bradley Stoke Youth FC.

After last week’s fantastic 1-0 win against AEK Boco Blue, Bradley Stoke Youth FC’s Under-11 Girls travelled to face last season’s runners-up Westbury Park Foxes, a side they had never scored against, let alone beaten!

Despite a promising start for Bradley Stoke, with Daisy Ackerman going close, the side found themselves a goal down after just ten minutes when a ball into the box wasn’t dealt with by the Bradley Stoke defence, leaving a Westbury striker to smash home from close range.

Despite the setback, the Bradley Stoke girls kept pushing and it took them less than five minutes to find an equaliser when Daisy Ackerman’s shot was well blocked before Lydia Tang slotted home the rebound on the volley.

Both sides continued to look for that elusive second goal and displayed some great attacking football but neither side could convert and they went in level at 1-1.

The second half saw Bradley Stoke come close when Sophie Molyneux shot just wide after a lovely run past two defenders but it was Westbury Park Foxes who regained the lead when a corner was whipped into the box and the smallest of deflections was enough to see the ball go into the bottom corner of the net.

Bradley Stoke’s Daisy Ackerman looked to be on course to level the scores shortly after, when one-on-one but a fine save from the Westbury keeper just thwarted her. However, Bradley Stoke continued to work hard and got themselves back into the game after another strong run from Sophie Molyneux which saw a wonderful low finish into the bottom corner of the net from outside the box to level the scores.

The away side came close to winning the game at the end when Sophie Molyneux laid off to Olivia Hood who looked a certain to score but a fabulous sliding tackle from a Westbury defender was enough to nick the ball. An absorbing game of football with a draw the fair result.

U10 Girls suffer heavy defeat against Bristol Ladies Union Red

Bradley Stoke lost the game 7-0, thanks to some amazing striking of the ball from the opposition team, who showed that they could hit the ball from miles away! They had some real power behind the ball which meant they could score some fantastic goals! Which they did!

The first goal was a wonder strike from outside the box into the top left hand corner! Any men’s footballer would have been proud of the goal! An absolutely amazing strike, this was then followed by a goal from a similar position but into the bottom corner instead of the top! Another amazing piece of football.
