Mortgages & Financial Advice

Welcome to our guide to mortgage consultants and financial advisers in and around Bradley Stoke.
Did you know there are three types of financial adviser?
- Tied advisers who operate on behalf of one financial services company, such as the person you see if you visit your local bank branch;
- Multi-tied advisers who sell products on behalf of a limited range of companies; and
- Independent financial advisers (IFAs) who choose products for their clients from the whole of the market.
Mortgage brokers and financial advisers must be authorised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).
The FSA requires firms selling mortgages to give you two Keyfacts documents, which set out the following information:
- Keyfacts about their mortgage service; and
- Keyfacts about the mortgage being offered (also known as a Keyfacts Illustration or KFI)
