Hilton team brightens up children’s playground

The Hilton Bristol hotel team recently spent three days cleaning-up, preparing and painting the children’s playground in Paddock Close, Bradley Stoke. This children’s playground was last refurbished seven years ago and recently had new soft-padded carpet installed around the play equipment by the town council.

In partnership with the council, the Hilton Bristol purchased special paint and equipment to rejuvenate the area, including two swings, a rocking horse and the children’s climbing frame and slide, as well as volunteering their time to help the local community of Bradley Stoke.

This initiative is part of Hilton’s global community relations program, Bright Blue Futures, which helps young people achieve stability through the delivery of basic needs within the local community – giving them a brighter future in education, life skills development, workforce training and employment.

Richard Finn, hotel manager at Hilton Bristol, commented:

“Bright Blue Futures builds upon the great work already being done by our hotels in our communities, providing additional resources and tools to increase their impact and make an even greater difference in the lives of young people. Bright Blue Futures enables us to leverage the unique expertise and resources we have as a hospitality company to create opportunities for youth and strengthen our communities around the globe.”

“Many of the Hilton Bristol team live local to Bradley Stoke and were brought up here as children, or are bringing up their children here, so it felt right to do something to help the local community with the Town Council recommended this project. The playground now looks like new and the hotel team are really proud of their work in such a short time.”

The Hilton Bristol hotel also supports the Jessie May Trust, a local charity which provides care for terminally ill children in their homes, through fundraising efforts in partnership with Hilton in the Community Foundation.

Mr Finn added:

“If you have a local project you think the team at the hotel could get involved in, please get in touch.”
