Out now: October 2015 edition of the Bradley Stoke Journal magazine

October 2015 edition of the Bradley Stoke Journal news magazine.

There’s a strong schools theme in the October edition of the Bradley Stoke Journal magazine, delivered over the last few days, including the official opening of the new primary phase at Bradley Stoke Community School and the news that pupils at Meadowbrook Primary School have scooped a prestigious national wildlife photography award.

Other stories report on the start of work to extend Virgin Media’s cable network in Bradley Stoke (although the company remains silent about it), plans to convert the town’s street lights to LED technology and the troubled start to MetroBus construction.

Some of the many other articles in this month’s magazine cover the introduction of bus lane enforcement cameras, prosecution of fly-tippers, community support for Syrian refugees, a campaign for more lights in the local nature reserve and news of a local pub’s entry into the CAMRA Good Beer Guide.

Community groups and businesses getting a mention include Lloyds Banking Group, Abacus Pre-School, Ronnie’s Fruit, Veg & Salad, St John Ambulance, South Gloucestershire Decorative & Fine Arts Society, Patchway Army Cadets, Aspirations IFA, Dunkley’s Accountants and the Willow Brook Clinic.
