Out this weekend: November 2013 edition of the Bradley Stoke Journal magazine

November 2013 edition of the Bradley Stoke Journal magazine.

The November 2013 edition of the Bradley Stoke Journal magazine will be dropping on doormats this weekend.

This issue has a special four-page feature on traffic congestion in Bradley Stoke and how our local councils are proposing to deal with it, particularly in view of all the new development planned for the North Fringe of Bristol over the coming years.

There’s also news about First Group’s radical overhaul of bus fares in the Bristol area, which will bring cheaper travel for many (but not all).

With Remembrance Sunday fast approaching, we have news of the launch of the local Poppy Appeal and details of upcoming remembrance services in Stoke Gifford and Patchway.

We also have the latest update from the Bradley Stoke in Bloom group, whose members have recently installed planters beneath the “Welcome to Bradley Stoke” signs at either end of Bradley Stoke Way.

Young people will be pleased to read the latest on the development of a new skate park, which could start to take shape in the new year.

There’s also news about the ever-popular Christmas lights switch-on events at The Mall and the Willow Brook Centre, which are both coming up within the next fortnight.

Think you know Bradley Stoke? Then why not enter our unique photo quiz (page 25) to be in with a chance of  winning a £50 Argos voucher, kindly donated by the Willow Brook Centre?

  1. Hmm..whilst reading the article in the Bradley Stoke Journal about the planters that have been put into position as part of Bradley Stoke in Bloom, I was heartened to learn that they would also provide “an enhanced wildlife habitat”. This is truly wonderful news as perhaps they could be populated with rabbits to replace the the ones that mysteriously disappeared from ‘rabbit roundabout’ on the winterbourne road.
