Anybody got any ideas what the CCTV cameras are for that have appeared on roundabouts up and down Bradley Stoke Way?
I’m guessing it’s traffic survey stuff but just wondering if anyone has any knowledge what they’re surveying for – or if they’re for something more sinister?
Cheers!
Chris

Just been out to take a look – another reader (Graham) had asked the same question this afternoon.
There are two cameras on each of the Patchway Brook, Webbs Wood and Baileys Court roundabouts.
The equipment boxes are marked “CCTV video recording in operation for transport studies”.
I’ll contact the Council for a statement tomorrow.
I saw the data being collected by a company called ‘Count on Us’ this morning (http://www.countonus.co.uk), who specialise in Transportation Data Collection.
