Fine set of weekend results for Bradley Stoke CC

Bradley Stoke Cricket Club’s First XI sealed their third win in a row with a thumping 120 run over Nailsea on Saturday (22nd June).

Struggling at 38 for 4, the home side made a competitive 204 with Mankar top scoring with 58 and Davis with 47. Nailsea’s reply never got going and they were eventually bowled out for 84, with Passmore picking up 4 for 31 and Baber returning figures of 3 for 16.

The Second XI tied their away fixture at Nailsea. Batting first, Bradley Stoke scored 200 with Paul Peterson top scoring with 44. Nailsea looked like claiming the victory at 199 for 8 but collapsed to lose their final two wickets with the scores level. Radford and Phillips both picked up three wickets.

The Third XI won away at Coalpit Heath, bowling the home team out for 131. Winward continued his fine form by picking up 6 for 28. Bradley Stoke’s reply was stuttering at 79 for 7 before youngsters Wentland (30 not out) and Phillips (35 not out) guided the team home to claim victory with 14 overs to spare.

The game of the day was the Fourth XI v Hanham 3rds. Bradley Stoke were first into bat and started well with the openers putting on 58 before losing captain Nick English. However, fellow opener Talbot made the most of his good start by going onto make three figures, ending on 101 before being caught. Wentland was the next top scorer with 49, helping Bradley Stoke to finish on an imposing 274. Hanham came close, eventually falling eight runs short, with Goodwin the pick of the bowlers with a career best 4-35. R Edwards impressed with 118 (not out) for the visitors.
