A Bradley Stoke company which supplies innovative safety, management and compliance software for the global airline industry has won Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of its outstanding international sales growth.

Vistair Systems, based at Broadway House, Woodlands (off Woodlands Lane), has seen its headcount grow steadily from eight people to well over 100 since the company was formed in 2005.

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the UK’s most prestigious business awards, given only to companies or individuals who are outstanding in their field.

To receive an award in the category of International Trade, a company must show a substantial and sustained increase in export earnings over three consecutive 12-month periods, to a level which is outstanding for the products and services concerned, and for the size of the organisation.

Overseas business now accounts for more than half of all sales at Vistair, which today has a client base spanning every continent, representing export sales growth of 850 per cent in the last six years.

The company’s joint founder and CEO, Ian Herbert, said:

“We’re immensely proud to have been recognised in this way. Many software houses develop generic ‘off the shelf’ solutions. At Vistair, every solution we offer has been meticulously tested and developed in tandem with airline experts, ensuring they are fit for purpose and optimised to meet the very specific pressures and challenges faced by commercial airlines.”

“Our total focus on working with commercial airlines, tied to our track record of delivering innovative solutions that help our clients run their operations more effectively and, ultimately, add value to the bottom line that has been the catalyst for growth, both at home in the UK and abroad.”

“As a growing business we rely heavily on word of mouth recommendations and this award underlines the excellent service we provide to airlines all over the world.”
