Bradley Stoke Youth FC (BSYFC) has boys’, mixed and girls’ teams. We are the girls’ team – playing in a league for girls only. We currently have about 80 girls training across our three teams – Under-11s (Year 5 & 6), Under-13s (Year 7 & 8) and Under-15s (Year 9 & 10).

Hello from us here at Bradley Stoke Zero Carbon Community Group. We have asked the Journal to give us a bit of space to tell you a little about our ‘newish’ group and what we do. The group was kick started by South Gloucestershire Council passing a climate emergency motion on 17th July 2019.

A stone ‘happiness snake’ created during the coronavirus lockdown along the side of a popular footpath in Bradley Stoke has found a permanent home at the town’s Willow Brook shopping centre. It can be found in a small garden area near the bus entrance off Bradley Stoke Way.

Motorists in the Stokes are now able to see the benefits of a £2.9m scheme of improvements at Great Stoke (Rabbit) Roundabout after the final surfacing and road marking tasks were completed
in early September. The new toucan crossings are now expected to go live in October.

Bradley Stoke Town Council’s first-ever Scarecrow Trail has attracted around 30 entrants who will now go on to make a figure and display it over the autumn half-term holiday. Members of the public will be able to take part in the trail from 24th to 31st October.

The West of England Combined Authority (Weca) is accelerating e-scooter trials to provide alternative ways to travel while social distancing is in place on public transport. Two types of hire schemes are expected to be available very soon: hop-on, hop-off hire (similar to YoBike) and longer term lease hire.
