The long-awaited project to desilt the lake in Bradley Stoke’s Three Brooks Local Nature Reserve finally got under way on Monday 1st November when South Gloucestershire Council’s specialist contractor Land & Water Services Ltd moved onto the site. The work is expected to take 6 weeks to complete, i.e. until mid-December.

The final cost of repairing damage caused by an arson attack earlier this year at the Beacon Play Area on Jubilee Green was just over £1,900. However, despite tough talking by the town council’s press spokesperson at the time of the incident, no independent action to recover the repair costs has been taken.

Town councillors have given the go-ahead for this year’s Bradley Stoke fireworks display, despite lingering concerns relating to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Taking place on Sunday 7th November at the Jubilee Centre, the event will, for the first time in its history, feature specially selected ‘low noise’ fireworks.

It is expected that footpath and cycle way closures will be in effect for a period of up to 21 days starting 1st November 2021.
