Following the trial of a ‘low noise’ format in 2021, Bradley Stoke’s hugely popular FREE fireworks display reverts to a ‘traditional’ (loud) format for this year’s renewal on Sunday 6th November 2022.

Organised by Bradley Stoke Town Council, the event takes place at the Jubilee Centre, Savages Wood Road [BS32 8HL, map].

Gates open at 4:30pm with hot food served from 4:45pm. The display itself starts at 6pm.

No alcohol is allowed on site and sparklers are also forbidden.

Disabled parking is available on site; please arrive by 5.15pm. Other than this, there is no parking available at or near the Jubilee Centre.

A road closure will be in force on the section of Savages Wood Road west of Manor Farm Roundabout (on Brook Way).

Visitors are asked to park in the Willow Brook Centre car park and walk to the event [see map for parking location and walking route].

There will be a ‘bucket’ collection for the mayor’s charities, which this year are St Peter’s Hospice and Great Western Air Ambulance Charity.

Mixed feedback

The decision to trial a ‘low noise’ display in 2021 was made in response to concerns raised by a resident over the detrimental impact of a traditional display “on local wildlife and pets”. It was supported by five councillors, with three against and two abstentions.

However, following mixed feedback from the public regarding the 2021 event, councillors subsequently voted 6:4 for a return to a ‘traditional’ format this year.

Event budget

The agreed budget for this year’s event is £9,300, of which £4,195 is paid directly to the Dynamite Fireworks for staging the display. The remaining amount is spent mainly on security staff, fencing hire, sound systems, first aid and skip hire.

This year’s budget has been increased by £300 to cover the cost of an extra 12 security staff for “crowd control”.
