Bus passengers in areas bordering Bradley Stoke should be aware of a number of alterations to bus services that come into effect on Sunday (22nd January 2023).
These changes are in addition to the shortening of the 73 route (meaning it will terminate in north Bradley Stoke rather than Cribbs Causeway) and the introduction of the M4 MetroBus service between Bristol city centre, Bristol Parkway Station and Cribbs Causeway, both of which come into effect on the same day.
Service 19
Presently linking Bath and Cribbs Causeway, this service will no longer operate on the section of route between Bristol Parkway Station and Cribbs Causeway.
Passengers from the Bristol Parkway and Stoke Gifford areas will be able to use new M4 MetroBus to make this journey.
Passengers wishing to travel to and from Cribbs Causeway from stops prior to Bristol Parkway can change buses at UWE Frenchay Bus Station onto service M1 or M4 onwards to Cribbs Causeway or alternatively at Bristol Parkway (M4 or Y6). However, the requirement to change buses will potentially increase ticket costs, for example if previously using the two-trip ticket.
Buses will be given more time to complete their journeys to improve punctuality.
This change will reduce the number of options for passengers using stops on Little Stoke Lane and Stoke Lane who wish to travel to and from Cribbs Causeway. The 19 currently runs hourly throughout the week. Without it, passengers using these stops will be restricted to using the First Y6 service (hourly Mon-Fri and two-hourly at weekends) or the Stagecoach 12 service (hourly).

Service Y6
This service will have a revised timetable. Between Gloucester Road and Cribbs Causeway buses will operate via Charlton Boulevard and Highwood Road, rather than Hayes Way, replacing service 19 along this section of the route.
