The 1st Bradley Stoke Rainbows have finally been able to return to regular face-to-face meetings following the relaxation of coronavirus restrictions. We started the summer term meeting outdoors on alternate weeks and since June have been meeting together weekly.

A Bradley Stoke restaurant has announced a ten-day temporary closure due to staff shortages resulting from a Covid-19 ‘close contact’ notification. The closure of the Harvester restaurant at the town’s Willow Brook shopping centre was announced last Wednesday and it is currently foreseen that the venue will reopen on Saturday 28th August.

At Bradley Stoke Ladies Football Club we are really looking forward to playing in the Gloucestershire County Women’s Football League for the seventh season since the club was first established in 2015. Training has continued since the last league match was finished and we plan to continue running training for the rest of summer.

A popular car boot sale that takes place near Bradley Stoke has reopened for the 2021 season following a prolonged break due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The first sale at the Trench Lane site was held on Sunday 25th July and the weekly event will now continue until the end of October.

The coral/orange-coloured rental e-scooters that first appeared on the streets of the Stokes in February have certainly divided opinion, with one commentator likening them to Marmite – “You either love them or hate them”. Metro mayor Dan Norris has paid a visit to a Bradley Stoke children’s playground specialist to see how the company is benefiting from a Green Business Grant scheme. Pentagon Play has received a grant of £3,000 from the West of England Combined Authority, which Mr Norris now leads.
