Candidates announced for Meadowbank by-election

Two candidates have been declared to contest a by-election for a vacant seat on Bradley Stoke Town Council. The vacancy arose when Cllr David Skeet (Conservative) resigned his position as a representative of the Meadowbank parish ward, following “criticism of his poor attendance record [at Council meetings] due to illness”. Thornbury community radio begins transmissions with increased coverage area

Local community radio station Thornbury FM has begun its latest month-long broadcasting period using a re-positioned transmitter that extends its coverage as far as Bradley Stoke. The station currently broadcasts for two 28-day sessions a year, but is campaigning for a permanent broadcasting licence that would allow it to transmit throughout the year.
